As a new school year begins and families return to familiar routines, we are praying for our community. We are asking God to strengthen families, protect students, encourage teachers, bring prodigals home, reach those who are far from Him, and use us to share the hope of Jesus.

DAY 15 (August 9): PRAY FOR OUR SCHOOLS

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:7

God told His people to seek the peace and prosperity of the place where He had placed them and to pray for it.

Our schools are a significant part of our community.

Today, pray specifically for students, teachers, administrators, counselors, coaches, bus drivers, support staff, and families.

Pray for safety. Pray for wisdom. Pray for teachers who are tired before the year even begins. Pray for students who are anxious, lonely, or struggling. Pray for Christian students and educators to live their faith with courage, humility, and love.

Our schools need more than our opinions about them. They need our prayers and our faithful presence.

Reflect: Is there a specific school, student, or teacher I can commit to praying for this year?
Pray: Lord, bless and protect our schools. Give wisdom to leaders, strength to teachers, and peace and courage to students.

DAY 16 (August 10): STRENGTHEN OUR FAMILIES

Scripture: Joshua 24:15

Families face enormous pressure.

Schedules are full. Parents are tired. Marriages can become strained. Children and students are being shaped by countless voices competing for their attention.

Today, pray for the families in our church and community.

Pray for strong marriages. Pray for single parents. Pray for grandparents raising grandchildren. Pray for foster and adoptive families. Pray for homes experiencing conflict or financial pressure. Pray for parents who are worried about their children.

Ask God to make our homes places where grace is practiced, forgiveness is offered, Scripture is valued, prayer is normal, and Jesus is first.

Reflect: What is one way I can intentionally bring Jesus into the rhythm of my home?
Pray: God, strengthen our families. Heal what is hurting, restore what is broken, and help our homes reflect Your love and grace.

DAY 17 (August 11): BRING THE PRODIGALS HOME

Scripture: Luke 15:11-24

Most of us know someone who has wandered away.

A son. A daughter. A friend. A spouse. Someone who once walked closely with God but has become distant.

The story Jesus told in Luke 15 reminds us of the heart of the Father. The father watched for his son, ran toward him, embraced him, and welcomed him home.

Today, pray by name for people who have walked away from God.

Do not give up praying.

You may not see what God is doing in their story. You may not know how He is working through circumstances, conversations, memories, or other people.

Keep praying. Keep loving. Keep the door open.

Reflect: Who is the person God has placed on my heart to pray for today?
Pray: Father, draw those who have wandered back to You. Bring prodigals home and help us welcome them with grace.

DAY 18 (August 12): OPEN OUR EYES

Scripture: Matthew 9:35-38

Jesus saw crowds differently.

Where others might have seen interruptions, problems, or strangers, Jesus saw people who were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

And He had compassion.

We can become so familiar with our routines that we stop truly seeing the people around us.

Today, ask God to open your eyes.

See the neighbor you rarely speak to. See the coworker who is struggling. See the parent sitting alone at practice. See the student who feels invisible. See the person who walks through the doors of our church uncertain whether they belong.

The harvest is plentiful.

Reflect: Who around me might God be asking me to truly see?
Pray: Jesus, give me Your eyes for people. Replace indifference with compassion and help me recognize the opportunities You place before me.

DAY 19 (August 13): DRAW PEOPLE TO JESUS

Scripture: John 6:44

We cannot change another person’s heart.

We cannot argue someone into the kingdom of God. We cannot manufacture repentance or force faith.

But God draws people.

That truth should lead us to pray with hope.

Today, pray for people in our community who do not know Jesus. Pray for the person who has never entered a church. Pray for those who have been hurt by the church. Pray for the skeptical, the disappointed, the angry, the lonely, and the searching.

Ask God to draw them to Jesus.

Then ask God if He wants to use you as part of the answer to that prayer.

Reflect: Who are three people I can consistently pray for who need to know Jesus?
Pray: Father, draw people in our community to Jesus. Prepare hearts, open doors, and give us courage to share Your love.

DAY 20 (August 14): USE US

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:18-20

God has entrusted us with the message of reconciliation.

We are Christ’s ambassadors.

That means we represent Jesus wherever we go. We carry the message that through Christ, people can be reconciled to God.

The church does not exist only for those already inside it. We have been sent into the world with good news.

Today, pray that God would use Gateway in our community. Pray for every ministry, partnership, group, volunteer, and opportunity to serve. Pray that people would experience the love of Jesus through His people.

Then pray something more personal:

God, use me.

Reflect: Am I willing to be an answer to the prayers I have been praying for my community?
Pray: Lord, use our church to bring hope and healing to our community. Use my words, my time, my gifts, and my relationships for Your purposes.

DAY 21 (August 15): HERE WE ARE, LORD

Scripture: Romans 12:1-2

For 21 days, we have prayed and fasted together.

We have prayed for God to begin with us.

We have prayed for Him to awaken His church.

We have prayed for Him to draw our community to Jesus.

But the end of a fast is not the end of our surrender.

Paul calls us to offer our entire lives to God as living sacrifices. That means our worship continues in the way we live, love, serve, forgive, give, speak, work, and follow Jesus.

As this fast comes to an end, do not simply return to normal without asking what God wants you to carry forward.

What new rhythm needs to continue?

What distraction needs to remain in its proper place?

Whom will you continue praying for?

Where is God asking you to serve?

Who is He asking you to disciple?

How is He asking you to live differently?

These 21 days were never only about what we gave up.

They were about giving ourselves more fully to God.

Reflect: What has God shown me during these 21 days, and what will I do in response?
Pray: Lord, here we are. Our lives belong to You. Continue the work You have begun in us. Awaken Your church. Draw our community to Jesus. Use us to lead everyone to be more like Jesus. Amen.

This week, our prayers move outward. We are praying for Gateway and for the Church of Jesus Christ. We are asking God to deepen our unity, strengthen our worship, grow disciples, equip His people, reach the next generation, and make us faithful to our mission.

DAY 8 (August 2): MAKE US ONE

Scripture: John 17:20-23

Before Jesus went to the cross, He prayed for those who would believe in Him.

He prayed for us.

And one of His prayers was that His followers would be one.

Biblical unity does not mean we agree about everything. It means our love for Jesus and one another is greater than the preferences and differences that could divide us.

A united church is a powerful witness to the world.

Today, pray for unity in our church. Pray for relationships to be strengthened. Pray for forgiveness where there has been hurt. Pray that gossip would end, grace would increase, and our shared mission would be greater than our individual preferences.

Ask God to begin with you.

Reflect: Is there anyone within the church toward whom I need to extend grace, forgiveness, or reconciliation?
Pray: Jesus, make us one. Protect our church from division and teach us to love one another as You have loved us.

DAY 9 (August 3): DEVOTED

Scripture: Acts 2:42-47

The early church was not built around spectators.

They were devoted.

They devoted themselves to God’s Word, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. They shared life together, cared for one another, worshiped God, and lived with a visible faith.

And God worked through them.

Pray today that Gateway would be a devoted church. Not simply a busy church or a growing church, but a people deeply devoted to Jesus and one another.

Pray that we would worship faithfully, serve willingly, live in authentic community, learn God’s Word, and grow as disciples who help others become disciples.

Revival is not something we attend. It is something God does in surrendered people.

Reflect: Am I participating in the life and mission of the church or primarily observing it?
Pray: Lord, make us a devoted people. Grow us as disciples who worship, serve, live in community, and help others follow Jesus.

DAY 10  (August 4): EQUIP YOUR PEOPLE

Scripture: Ephesians 4:11-16

The work of ministry was never intended to be carried by a few professionals.

God has gifted His people.

Every believer has a part to play in the body of Christ. The church becomes healthy as each person grows in maturity and does the work God has given them to do.

Today, pray that people across Gateway would discover their calling and use their gifts. Pray for those who serve quietly and faithfully. Pray for new leaders to be raised up. Pray for mentors, small group leaders, children’s ministry volunteers, student leaders, worshipers, teachers, encouragers, and servants.

Ask God where He wants to use you.

Reflect: Where has God gifted me to serve and strengthen others?
Pray: God, equip Your people for works of service. Raise up leaders and servants, and show me how You want to use my life.

DAY 11 (August 5): MAKE DISCIPLES

Scripture: Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus did not tell His followers simply to gather crowds. He told them to make disciples.

A disciple follows Jesus, becomes more like Jesus, and helps someone else follow Jesus.

This mission belongs to every believer.

Imagine the impact if each of us intentionally invested in one person. One person praying for another. One person opening Scripture with another. One person encouraging another to follow Jesus.

Then that person does the same for someone else.

Today, pray that discipleship would become part of the culture of our church. Pray that God would show each of us someone we can encourage and help grow in faith.

Reflect: Who is one person God may be calling me to intentionally invest in?
Pray: Jesus, make me Your disciple and use me to help someone else follow You.

DAY 12 (August 6): THE NEXT GENERATION

Scripture: Psalm 78:4-7

Faith must be passed on.

Every generation has the responsibility to tell the next generation who God is and what He has done.

Today, pray for the children and students of our church. Pray that they will know Jesus, love His Word, recognize His voice, and have the courage to follow Him in a culture that often pulls them in another direction.

Pray for parents and grandparents. Pray for children’s ministry leaders, student leaders, teachers, coaches, and mentors.

Our investment in the next generation may not always produce immediate results that we can see, but seeds planted faithfully today can bear fruit for years to come.

Reflect: How can I help the next generation know and follow Jesus?
Pray: Lord, raise up a generation that knows You, loves You, and courageously follows You.

DAY 13 (August 7): A HOUSE OF PRAYER

Scripture: Isaiah 56:7; Matthew 21:13

Jesus said that His house would be called a house of prayer.

Prayer cannot simply be something the church talks about. It must become part of who we are.

A praying church recognizes that programs cannot change hearts. Talent cannot produce spiritual transformation. Strategy cannot replace the work of the
Holy Spirit.

We plan faithfully, work diligently, and serve wholeheartedly, but our dependence remains upon God.

Today, pray for a deeper culture of prayer at Gateway. Pray in our homes, groups, ministries, staff, leaders, and worship services.

And once again, begin personally.

A praying church is made up of praying people.

Reflect: What would need to change for prayer to become a greater priority in my life?
Pray: Lord, teach us to pray. Make Gateway a church that seeks You first and depends upon Your power.

DAY 14 (August 8): SEND US

Scripture: Isaiah 6:8

“Here am I. Send me!”

Isaiah’s response came after encountering the holiness and grace of God.

God is still sending His people.

He sends us across the street, into schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, hospitals, ball fields, restaurants, and homes. The mission field is not only somewhere far away. It is wherever God has placed us.

Today, pray that Gateway would never become a church focused only on ourselves. Ask God to give us eyes to see the people around us and courage to respond when He gives us an opportunity.

Then make Isaiah’s prayer personal.

Here I am, Lord. Send me.

Reflect: Where has God already placed me to represent Jesus?
Pray: Lord, give our church a heart for the people around us. Open our eyes, give us courage, and send us wherever You want us to go.

Before we pray for revival around us, we begin by asking God to work within us. This week is personal. We are asking God to search our hearts, reveal what needs to change, renew our hunger for Him, and teach us to seek Him first.

DAY 1 (July 26): BEGIN WITH ME

Scripture: Psalm 139:23-24

We often see clearly what needs to change around us. We see problems in our culture, struggles in our community, and things we wish were different in the church.

But spiritual renewal begins with a much more personal prayer: Lord, begin with me.

David invited God to search his heart. That is a courageous prayer because we are giving God permission to reveal what we may have ignored, justified, or hidden.

As we begin these 21 days, do not start by asking God to change everyone else. Ask Him to search you. Ask Him to reveal anything standing between you and deeper fellowship with Him.

Fasting removes some of the noise and comfort we normally depend upon. In the space that remains, we invite God to speak.

Reflect: What might God want to change in me during these 21 days?
Pray: Lord, search my heart. Show me where I need to change, grow, surrender, or return to You. Begin Your work in me.

DAY 2 (July 27): HUNGER FOR GOD

Scripture: Psalm 42:1-2

We know what physical hunger feels like. Our bodies remind us when something is missing.

Spiritual hunger can be easier to ignore.

We can fill our lives with activity, entertainment, work, food, schedules, and distractions while our souls quietly become hungry for God.

One purpose of fasting is to allow physical hunger to remind us of a deeper truth: we need God.

Every time you miss what you have chosen to give up, allow that desire to become a call to prayer. Instead of simply thinking, “I wish I could have that,” turn your attention toward God.

Pray, “Lord, increase my hunger for You.”

The goal of these 21 days is not simply to successfully finish a fast. The goal is to desire God more deeply when we finish than when we began.

Reflect: What have I been using to satisfy needs that only God can truly meet?
Pray: Lord, create in me a deeper hunger for Your presence, Your Word, and Your will.

DAY 3 (July 28): RETURN WITH ALL YOUR HEART

Scripture: Joel 2:12-13

God’s invitation to return is an invitation of grace.

Throughout Scripture, when God calls His people to return, He is not looking for religious performance. He wants their hearts.

It is possible to change our behavior without surrendering our hearts. We can attend worship, read Scripture, serve, give, and even fast while remaining spiritually distant from God.

That is why the prophet Joel called the people to return to God with all their hearts.

During this fast, God may bring something to your attention that needs to be confessed or surrendered. Do not run from that conviction. Respond to it.

The God calling you to return is gracious and compassionate. His desire is restoration.

Reflect: Is there an area of my life where I have been resisting God?
Pray: Lord, I return to You today. Give me an undivided heart and help me surrender every part of my life to You.

DAY 4 (July 29): REMOVE THE DISTRACTIONS

Scripture: Luke 10:38-42

Martha was doing good things, but she had become distracted from the most important thing.

That can happen to us too.

Our lives can become so full of responsibilities, notifications, activities, entertainment, work, and even ministry that we lose the ability to sit quietly in the presence of Jesus.

Not every distraction is sinful. Some distractions are good things that have taken too much space.

Fasting helps us identify what has been occupying our attention. When something is removed, even temporarily, we begin to recognize how much of our time and focus it was consuming.

Today, pay attention to the places your mind runs when things become quiet.
Then choose what Mary chose: be present with Jesus.

Reflect: What most frequently distracts me from spending time with God?
Pray: Jesus, help me recognize the distractions in my life and choose what matters most. Teach me to be present with You.

DAY 5 (July 30): CREATE IN ME A PURE HEART

Scripture: Psalm 51:10-12

David did not ask God to help him appear better. He asked God to change his heart.

Real spiritual transformation always works from the inside out.

We often focus on managing our external behavior, but God desires to transform our desires, motives, thoughts, and attitudes.

As you seek God today, ask Him to do more than help you become more disciplined. Ask Him to renew you from within.

Where has your heart become hard?

Where have you become cynical?

Where are you carrying bitterness?

Where has your passion for God grown cold?

God is able to renew what has become tired and restore what has been lost.
 
Reflect: What part of my heart most needs God’s renewing work today?
Pray: God, create in me a pure heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Restore the joy of walking closely with You.

DAY 6 (July 31): LISTEN

Scripture: 1 Samuel 3:9-10

“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.”

It is a simple prayer, but not always an easy one.

Most of us are much better at speaking than listening. Even in prayer, we can quickly move through a list of requests without creating space to listen for God’s direction through His Word and the work of the Holy Spirit.

Today, slow down.

Read the Scripture passage more than once. Sit quietly. Ask God what He wants to reveal about your heart, your relationships, your priorities, and your obedience.

God’s voice will never contradict His Word, but His Spirit often uses Scripture to convict, encourage, redirect, and remind us of truth.

Do not rush through your time with God today.

Listen.

Reflect: Have I created enough quiet in my life to listen to God?
Pray: Speak, Lord. Help me quiet my heart, listen to Your Word, and respond in obedience.

DAY 7 (August 1): SEEK FIRST

Scripture: Matthew 6:31-33

We spend much of our lives seeking.

We seek security, success, approval, comfort, control, relationships, and answers.

Jesus gives us a different priority: seek first the kingdom of God.

This does not mean our responsibilities and needs are unimportant. It means they must be placed in the right order.

God first.

As we finish the first week of our fast, consider what God has shown you. Has anything been out of order? Has something good become more important than God? Have worry and anxiety occupied the space where trust belongs?

Today, renew your commitment to seek God first, not only for these 21 days but as the pattern of your life.

Reflect: What would change in my life if I truly sought God first each day?
Pray: Father, help me seek Your kingdom first. Order my priorities and teach me to trust You with everything else.

What:

The goal of GWC is to bring women of Gateway into a shared experience that not only teaches, encourages, and inspires, but more importantly, binds us together as family, showing each woman she is accepted and loved. She belongs.

When:

8am - 4pm Saturday, April 25

Where:

Gateway Community Church, 760 Clear Lake City Blvd, Webster, TX 77598
*Come in through Entrance 5: go past the playground, and enter under the covered walkway, where you will see a check-in station and receive directions

8:00 - Check-in opens at Entrance 5
Light Breakfast, Prayer Room & Market Available

9:00 - Programming Begins
Worship, Keynote Speaker, Breakout Session 1, Lunch, Market Open, Breakout Sessions 2 & 3, Worship, Communion

4:00 - Goodbye!

Food:

We are serving a light breakfast, snacks, and lunch from La Madeline. All will include gluten-free options. If you have detailed dietary needs, feel free to bring some of your own options. For more info, email Meghan at m.bionat@gateway.cc.

Childcare:

There is no childcare for this event. 

Workshops:

You will get to choose 3 workshops to attend during the conference, and can choose them that day, except wreath making or door hanger making, which you must choose and pay for when you register.

This year’s workshops include the topics of: testimonies of faithfulness, Radical Acceptance Theory (building a life built on God's truth vs the assumptions and illusions of the world), and wreath and door hanger making.

Cost:

The conference is $44, which includes light breakfast, lunch, snack and all content.

We work hard to keep your cost as low as possible. We cannot refund payments, but you are welcome to transfer your registration or deposit to someone else. Make sure she registers, so we can be ready for her. We will help with that process (email Mariel - mgodeaux@gateway.cc). 

Scholarships:

If you need confidential financial help to attend the Conference, please email Meghan, m.bionat@gateway.cc. We don’t want money to keep anyone from attending this gathering. We will ask you to join in by serving on a team at the Conference if you are able.

Our T-Shirt is a Bella Canvas Unisex Short Sleeve Tee in a Heather Blue Lagoon. Shirts are $15 and available to purchase during registration through April 3. You will receive your shirt during check-in on Saturday.
